company hinstory

The company Isseltrans Spedition und Logistik GmbH was established in 1997 by Arno Stockhorst, supported by his father Clemens. The company was first headquartered in the buildings of the former railway station on the Hüttenstraße in Isselburg. Over the years, the original seriously dilapidated buildings underwent steady improvement.

1999 and 2009 was a period of steady growth - unlike many others in the sector - during which the range of activities and services was gradually and consistently expanded.

In 2010, to meet the needs of one major customer, most 3,000 metres of warehouse space were rented in Emmerich-Elten. This move further reinforced the already excellent relations with the Netherlands.

As time went by, however, it became clear that the existing company buildings were no longer sufficient to handle the steady growth of the business.

Following renovation work and the acquisition of the necessary infrastructure, to mark the 15th anniversary of the company’s establishment, the business moved in 2012 into the former market hall in Isselburg, located just a few metres from the company’s original offices.

In 2019 we took over Wolf Transporte from Duisburg.

In August 2020, a 2,000 m2 warehouse was totally destroyed by fire. Thanks to the stalwart efforts of several fire brigades, the spread of the fire to the remaining warehouse and office buildings was prevented.

Within just a single day, an emergency power generator meant that the company’s power supply and service capacity were re-established.

In February 2021, a start was made on the construction of a new building, which was completed one year later.

Now, on 25 June 2022, almost two years since the fire, the business is delighted to not only celebrate its 25th anniversary, but also the opening of the newly built warehouse facility. The new building, that forms the centre of the business, not only houses 2,000 m2 of logistic space on the ground floor, but also the entire office suite and rest and relaxation area on the first floor.
